In an email and on their social channels, The Ocean Conservancy released the “Game of Oil” video inspired by the famous Game of Thrones opening credits.

The email read:

Before you sit down this evening to watch the premiere of Game of Thrones, season six, I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss this email from my colleague Andrew in Alaska.

I bet that in tonight’s episode, the Starks of Winterfell will warn: “Winter is coming.” But if we look at the real Arctic in our own world, there is an equally dire warning: Winter is leaving.

The Arctic is changing rapidly. Without careful planning and management, expansion of industrial activities could impair wildlife habitat, interfere with subsistence hunting activities and threaten ecosystem resilience.

The email linked to a petition.
